Bishop Chrysostomos of Christianoupolis

His Grace, Bishop Chrysostomos of Christianoupolis was born in Levadeia, Boiotia, Greece, in 1952, into a family distinguished for its service to the Orthodox Church of Greece.

Since 1972, Bishop Chrysostomos has been a member of the Brotherhood of the Monastery of Sts. Cyprian and Justina in Fili, Attika, where he completed his liturgical and theological training. He also holds a Licentiate in Theology from the Center for Traditionalist Orthodox Studies in Etna, California.

His Grace, well known for his piety and exemplary humility, is likewise much revered by the faithful for his theological insight and spiritual guidance. In addition, he is trained in Byzantine hymnography and is celebrated for his masterful and pious execution of some of the Church's most complex and beautiful Byzantine compositions. His voice is found on many of the recordings of the Byzantine Choir of the Holy Monastery of Sts. Cyprian and Justina, which have been distributed worldwide and praised for their spiritual and artistic excellence.

Bishop Chrysostomos was Consecrated Assistant Bishop to the President of the Holy Synod in Resistance on 29 September 1986 (Old Style).
