Bishop Klemes (Clement) of Gardikion

His Grace, Bishop Klemes (Clement) of Gardikion was born in Drama, in Eastern Macedonia, Greece, in the year 1966.

His Grace, a gifted theologian and scholar, graduated from the Theological School of the University of Thessaloniki, receiving his diploma summa cum laude.

Upon graduation from university in 1989, he became a member of the Brotherhood of the Holy Monastery of Sts. Cyprian and Justina, where he completed his novitiate and his monastic and theological training.

Bishop Klemes has distinguished himself as Assistant Secretary, Pastor, and Preacher for the Monastery Brotherhood and the Holy Metropolis of Oropos and Phyle, and, with his theological erudition and singular expository skills, he has taken an active role in the publishing, educational, and anti-heretical endeavors of both.

He is responsible for the theological training program at the Monastery, which aims not only at the theological formation of the members of the Brotherhood, but serves to provide seminary training for clergy in the Holy Metropolis of Phyle and in Greece in general.

His Grace is the author of numerous erudite and instructive theological articles and studies of spiritual and historical content, many of which can be found, along with recordings of his superb homilies (in Greek), on the official website of the Holy Synod in Resistance.

He was Consecrated a Bishop on October 7, 2007 (Church [Old] Calendar), and immediately assumed the position of Secretary of the Holy Synod in Resistance.
